Rave Sunglasses

Tunisia weather in January?
Hi,
does anyone know what weather I should expect in the middle of January in Tunisia & what clothes I should pack, would I need my Sunglasses or am I expecting too much? Also the resort is yasmine hammamet, is the resort nice & will it all be open, is there much to do? I haven’t booked the holiday as yet, so I can always change the resort if its too quiet, I am not looking for loads of raving clubs but some entertainment & nightlife would be good.
Any ideas or advice?
Thanks.
January is winter time in Tunisia. The weather is generally cold and rainy in all parts of the country (there is snow if you head up to the mountains), and if you are staying in a Sea cost resort (which Yasmine Hammamet is), it is also humid which makes the weather feel even colder. If you plan of visiting the Sahara, not only will it be cold, but there will be a lot of dust storms at this time as well. You will want to pack clothes that you would normally pack if you are going somewhere in the winter.
For a detailed look at the current temperatures, please go to: http://www.accutravel.net/hammamet/weather
Another fun site to view is: http://www.weather2travel.com/climate-guides/index.php?destination=hammamet-yasmine
It gives the averages on different things from outside temperature to Sea temperature to hours of sunlight and more for different parts of Tunisia. Temperatures are listed in Celsius, but to view them in Fahrenheit, just hover your mouse over the temperature you would like to see.
I suggest that you bring:
*pants and/or jeans
*long sleeved shirts
*sweaters
*warm socks
*closed toe shoes (boots or tennis shoes are good)
*a warm jacket (hat, scarf, and mittens are optional, but most people use them here)
*umbrella
*sunglasses
Hammamet is pretty relaxed, and quiet. It is divided into two parts: The old city, and the new touristic city (called Yassmine Hammamet). The old city has it’s charm because it has a nice medina and the city itself is wonderful to explore. There is an amusement park, restaurants and golf courses in Yassmine Hammamet as well. Personally, if you are looking for excitement, then Sousse would probably be more to your liking. Sousse is a very busy, bustling city that has lots of shopping, discos, cafés and other things going on – it’s the type of place you go to if you really want to jump into the culture and experience a country.
