Poker Sunglasses
Can you tell me if any of this stuff is copyrighted?
i am doing an art project and they wont let me do anything thats copyrighted….a poker table w/o a logo, money, a poker chip w/o a logo, Sunglasses w/o a logo, and playing cards…thx jon
It really depends on the types of objects you find. A poker table is probably safe. Money isn’t copyrighted….artists use it all the time. Poker chips are tricky. Some casinos have copyrights on the pattern design on their chips. Even a crappy generic poker chip set from Walmart has a unique impression which the company who made it has exclusive rights to. Sunglasses are along the some lines. Even without a logo, the shapes of sunglasses are patent protected by the Sunglass manufacturer. And all playing cards are most definitely copyrighted.
Now, with that said. Some card, chip, sunglasses, and so on are not copyrighted precisely for artist use. These are called royalty free. If you can find a royalty free image of what you need, then technically its not copyrighted. You can find these types of images on stock photo sites like ShutterStock and iStock.
