Oakley Half Jacket Sunglasses

What is the diference bewteen Oakley half jacket and flak jacket Sunglasses?
because i dont really see a difference
The half jackets came out in 2002, the flak jackets in 2007.
The half jacket models are a good deal smaller than the flak jacket, and tend to “fit on the face,” generally towards the front of the face. The flak jackets are larger in general, and can extend out towards the edges of the face. The stems are thicker, and the lenses provide more coverage. Some people think the half jackets were too small, and some others think the flak jackets are a little too large. I personally far prefer the flak jackets (in the XLJ model). They’re essentially what Oakley came up with as an alternative after a few years of feedback on the half jackets.
Also, all flak jacket lenses use Oakley’s permanent hydrophobic coating, which makes them a lot more smudge, fog, dust, and water (and even scratch) resistant than the half jacket lenses. Though the half jackets were (and still are) pretty popular, they were known for issues with sometimes fogging, and especially with smudging as people would get sweat on them, try to wipe them, etc. With the flak jackets, things stay pretty clear and they wipe clean quite painlessly.
Since the half jackets have been around longer, they’ve had more lens options available for a good while, though Oakley seems to be rapidly filling out the flak jacket options as they prove fairly popular. The flak jackets were all over the 2008 Olympics, but I’m not sure I recall seeing any half jackets this round — many athletes have switched over for the hydrophobic lenses if nothing else (though other models like the Radars have them too).
You might want to stop by an Oakley dealer to actually try things on. Though it might help to see photos on someone’s face (see below), I think the difference is a lot more apparent in person, and especially during actual use.
