Supporting artists by paying for downloads?
Why do some people feel the need to “support artists” by paying for downloads? Why should I pay out my hard-earned money so that Snoop Dogg can buy another Cadillac or Bono can buy a blingier pair of Sunglasses?
I don’t mind paying to support smaller independent artists, but surely it’s silly to pay money to millionaire’s when you are struggling financially yourself?
You pose a good question. Some people like an artist enough that they want to support them in anyway possible. While you may not always agree, which in my opinion is perfectly fine, it also makes sense someone else may have a different opinion.
For example, many people are strongly apposed to Bush as a president in the United States and would never understand why someone would support him by campaigning or voting for him.
It’s also a legal issue. One could say Microsoft is already rich, why pay for any of their products? Because it’s technically illegal for you to use Windows without owning a legal license.
